The flag of Ethiopia is a tricolor flag consisting of three equal horizontal stripes of green, yellow, and red. The colors are arranged in this order from top to bottom. The Ethiopian flag was first adopted in 1897 during the reign of Emperor Menelik II. It has been the official flag of Ethiopia ever since.
