After Jesus died, his body was taken down from the cross by Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy member of the Jewish council, and Nicodemus, a Pharisee. They wrapped Jesus' body in a linen cloth and spices and buried it in a nearby tomb.
This station is a reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. He willingly died on the cross so that we could be forgiven for our sins. It is also a reminder of the hope that we have in Jesus. Even though he died, he rose from the dead three days later, conquering death and giving us hope for eternal life.
Reflection:
* How does the death of Jesus remind you of the sacrifice that he made for you?
* How does the resurrection of Jesus give you hope for eternal life?
* What can you do to show your love and gratitude to Jesus for his sacrifice?
