Hotels Near the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii

The Subaru Telescope at the Mauna Kea Observatory in Hilo, Hawaii, is one of the most powerful telescopes in the world and is open to the public for morning tours. The tours take place year-round. The observatory is within 10 minutes of Hilo hotels; most of these hotels provide views of Hilo Bay and Waiakea Forest Reserve. Hilo is accessible via Hilo International Airport, located on the eastern side of the city.

    • Approximately 10 minutes from the Subaru Telescope, the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort hotel faces the shores of Hilo Bay.
