Ocean Front Hotels in Louisiana

Most ocean front hotels in Louisiana are located on The Grand Isle, which is about 50 miles due south of New Orleans and has many annual fishing rodeos. Many of the hotels are within a short walking distance to the beach and they provide areas for cleaning fish as well as kitchens with the necessary cooking utensils. Some even provide barbecue pits and RV parking accommodations. One motel even has its own pier with a cleaning-station and a lighted walkway for nighttime fishing.

  1. Cajun Tide Beach Resort

    • Located on the Grande Isle, the Cajun Tide Beach Resort is a mom-and-pop resort with a shared screened-in cooking area (in addition to the individual kitchens) that provides an area for fish-cleaning. Each cooking area has its own picnic table and there are numerous barbecue pits for use by the guests. During the summer, guests must stay a minimum of two nights. Pets are welcome but the owners must pay a cleaning fee.

    Grand Isle Suites

    • A two-minute walk from the beach, Grand Isle Suites likewise has a screened-in fish-cleaning area and each room has a stove and oven, plus pots and pans as well as other cooking utensils in case you want to fry your day's catch. All the suites are totally furnished and they each have cable television. The hotel's staff is also eager to provide information about the local fishing spots and weather patterns.

    Ricky's Motel and RV Park

    • Located 100 yards from the beach, Ricky's Hotel bills itself as the "finest in Cajun hospitality." Ricky's has both "bayside" and "beachside" rooms. The former faces the fishing pier (which is part of the Motel and has its own fish-cleaning station) and the latter looks out onto the Gulf. The hotel has wireless Internet and its own tackle shop. They do not accept reservations per email.
