Pinecliffe Colorado is a small railroad town with a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. Pinecliffe was originally the site for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad's water tower, eventually expanding to include a passenger railroad depot. Pinecliffe is approximately 20 miles southwest of Boulder and boasts area attractions such as fishing and boating in Gross Reservoir and skiing on the nearby slopes. While there are no hotels in the town of Pinecliffe, the area boasts several options from which to choose.

The Goldminer Hotel is about a 20-minute drive west of Pinecliffe on Klondike Avenue in Nederland. The hotel was built in 1897 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
