Hotels With Fireplaces in Rooms

A fireplace always adds a warm and romantic touch to any space, especially a hotel room. There are many hotels that offer fireplaces and not all of them are upscale or expensive. Whether they're in rustic seaside hotels or upscale five-star luxury properties, fireplace rooms are usually among the most desirable hotel accommodations.

  1. The Fireplace Inn

    • The Fireplace Inn is located in Carmel, California.

The Fireplace Inn in Carmel-by-the-Sea has 18 rooms, all with fireplaces and each with a distinctive decor. Room #32 is the Monte Verde red room and is decked out in warm woods and bright red with a king bed and full bath. The blue Casanova (#36) has a view of the Pacific Ocean, a king bed and a brick fireplace with a large hearth. Plenty of wood is supplied and the fireplaces have gas starters. The hotel offers a hot breakfast every morning in the tiny dining room and the nearby Casanova restaurant is a local legend.

    The Lowell

    • The Lowell is located in New York's Upper East Side.

Although many hotels in New York City feature fireplaces in their specialty suites, The Lowell is one of the few that offers wooding-burning fireplaces rather than the decorative gas variety. Of the 72 rooms, 33 have fireplaces, as do all the suites. The hotel's most recent renovation includes decor by Los Angeles designer Michael Smith, the official decorator for the Obama White House. It's all very cozy, but the prices are high, as one would expect in a hotel on the Upper East Side.

    Vintner's Inn

    • Vintner's Inn is in the heart of Sonoma County wine country.

Ensconced in the Ferrari-Carano vineyard in Northern California's wine country, Vintner's Inn combines luxury with peace and quiet. The upstairs fireplace rooms each have a balcony that overlooks the garden or vineyard. The king rooms have feather beds, down bedding, bathrobes and a soaking tub for comfort after a day of touring vineyards. The onsite restaurant is John Ash & Co. and it not only has innovative cuisine, but is surrounded by a tangle of grapevines. Not surprisingly, the restaurant has a great wine list and Ferrari-Carano wines can be purchased in the lobby at wholesale prices.

    Lexington Hotel

    • The Lexington Hotel, situated just off the town square in the trendy Wyoming ski community of Jackson, is a favorite tourist destination year-round. Many of the two-room suites have fireplaces and one special suite has both a fireplace and a hot tub. The indoor heated pool and hot tub are a welcome treat after a long day on the slopes or just shopping in the many upscale boutiques downtown. Although the hotel doesn't have an onsite restaurant, a complimentary hot breakfast is served daily and the popular Silver Dollar Grill is just a few doors away.
