Gilbert Plains is located in Manitoba, Canada, in the heart of the province's Parkland Region. Gilbert Plains is nestled between Riding Mountain National Park to the south and Duck Mountain to the north. A small farming community, Gilbert Plains has one small hotel, but there are a number of places to stay in neighboring communities such as Grandview, Dauphin, Ste Rose du Lac and Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba.

This hotel is located directly in the town of Gilbert Plains and is located close to local businesses, requiring minimal travel once you reach your destination.
Dauphin is located approximately 30 kilometers (18 miles) east of Gilbert Plains. Dauphin is home to several hotels including the Super 8 that serves a continental breakfast and has amenities on site such as a fitness room and steam room. The Canway Inn and Suites has an indoor pool and hot tub for those looking to unwind. There are also some rooms with in-suite hot tubs.
If you are interested in doing some hiking, relaxing at a resort, or hitting the beach after your visit to Gilbert Plains, then Riding Mountain National Park is worth the drive. Located an hour and 45 minutes south of Gilbert Plains, Riding Mountain has many attractions for the adventurous traveler. There are numerous accommodations in the area including the Elkhorn Resort which offers close proximity to nature but all of the luxuries of a resort vacation with large dining facilities offering continental breakfasts, spa treatments, an indoor pool and hot tub and guided trail rides.
Grandview is located 16 kilometers (nine miles) west of Gilbert Plains. This small community has fewer amenities than Dauphin, but is a much closer drive. There are two hotels in this community: the Grandview Motor Inn and the Parkview Motel. Both are small-town motels, offering minimal amenities.
