Flagstaff is the gateway for exploring northern Arizona. This medium-sized city is an hour from the Grand Canyon, and close to the Coconino National Forest with peaks that reach 12,633 feet. Also nearby is the Crater National Monument, the red rocks of Sedona, Northern Arizona University and the Lowell Observatory. History also abounds, as Flagstaff was settled while the west was being tamed, and the city is on historic Route 66. A great number of hotels are on Interstate-40 business highway, which is the original Route 66.

The Fairfield Inn is centrally located on South Milton Road, which connects Interstate 40 with I-40 Business and Interstate 17. Ski packages are available through the hotel as they cater to ski fans in the winter. There are three floors with 130 rooms and there is no smoking in any room and no pets are allowed. A heated outdoor pool is available, along with hot tub, fitness center and free wireless throughout the building. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but Coco's Restaurant, Red Lobster and Busters Steakhouse are all very close by.
The Grand Canyon is the greatest attraction here, and there are many ways to get there. Helicopter, flyover, jeep, horse, car and hiking are some some of the ways you may see the canyon, either self guided or on a guided tour. In winter there is skiing at nearby resorts. The Lowell Observatory is also nearby, along with the Naval observatory and Northern Arizona University. Route 66 is also a major attraction, and you can relive a piece of history there.
