Bellows Falls, located along the Connecticut River, is a village within the town of Rockingham in southeastern Vermont. Founded as a river crossroad point in 1785, it quickly expanded after the construction of the Bellows Falls Canal in 1791 and the addition of railroad lines in 1849.     The Old Tavern

    • The Old Tavern, located 8 miles west of Bellows Falls in the center of Grafton, is one of the oldest operating inns in the United States. Opened in 1801, it offers 45 guestrooms that include seven suites and four guesthouses with standard amenities such as private bath, plush bedding, private sitting areas and antique furniture. The four historic guesthouses are pet-friendly, full-size rental homes available for short- and long-term stays. Guests have access to The Old Tavern at Grafton restaurant, where head chef David Smith prepares dishes ranging from Foie Gras and Black Truffle Brulee to Bacon Wrapped Boyden Farm Beef Tenderloin.

    The Saxtons River Inn

    • The Saxtons River Inn, located approximately 6 miles west of Bellows Falls in the center of Saxtons River, is a historic accommodation built in 1817.
