Wanderlust World Wanderlust World Ganapatipule is in the Maharashtra region of western India and is a tourist destination for its beaches and swimming opportunities in the Arabian Sea. This city features beachfront resorts, including the MTDC Beach Resort. The resort features over 80 units, which offers guest rooms and cottages with views of the sea. MTDC Beach Resort is also within walking distance of the renowned Hindu pilgrimage site, the Swayambhu Ganapati Temple.
The MTDC Beach Resort offers 86 guest room units and many of them offers views of the Arabian Sea. Some of the guest rooms have sitting areas and private verandas. The décor is modern and simplistic with no memorabilia pieces, such as artwork. The resort also provides four waterfront cottages with living rooms, bathrooms and fully furnished kitchens. Guests who want to be even closer to the beach can stay in the resort's beachside tiki huts; these huts do not have air-conditioning or electricity and are approximately 50 feet away from each other.
The resort provides on-site dining at it's full-service restaurant. The dining room of this beachside restaurant has a casual atmosphere and open windows that offer views of the Arabian Sea. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day of the week. Most of the menu items are regional cuisine, such as tandoori chicken and yoghurt, but the restaurant also prepares international, European-influenced dishes. The resort's hotel also has the Beer Bar, which serves international and domestic beers.
The Water Sports Complex at MTDC Beach Resort offers rentals for kayaks, jet skis, motor boats and fishing boats. Guided boat tours of the area can be arranged by the resort's staff. The Water Sports Complex is open from November through May. Resort guests have full access to swimming and surfing activities in the Arabian Sea off MTDC's private beach, and the resort complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas for its guests. The resort is a five-minute walk from the historic Swayambhu Ganapati Temple, which was built in the 16th century and is a pilgrimage destination for Hindu believers. This temple is home to an idol of the Hindu god, Ganapati, and, according to legend, it was not created by man, but formed itself. Jaigad Fort, a 17th century battlement, is approximately 30 minutes away from the resort. The fort rests on a high promontory and provides views of the Arabian Sea and the Sangameshwar River.
