Many hotels in Canada and the United States offer swimming pools with water slides, which saves vacationers from the hassle of finding an off-site water park. The northern United States and Canada have indoor swimming areas for the regions' frigid winter months; whereas, the western and southern United States have year-round outdoor swimming pools with slides. In Duluth, Minnesota, the Edgewater Resort's indoor water park area has two four-story water slides, a 400-foot long lazy river and a vortex swimming pool. This Hilton is on the Ontario side of Niagara Falls and features a 10,000-square-foot indoor swimming pool with a twisting, three-story slide. The indoor swimming area, on the first floor of the hotel, is surrounded by 40-foot trees and a 27-foot waterfall that flows into the pool. The Hilton has been give a four-diamond award by AAA and also features the top-floor restaurant, Watermark. This fine dining establishment features two aquariums, and the dining room offers scenic views of Niagara Falls. Italian cuisine is offered at the on-site Macaroni Grill, while Brasa Brazilian Steakhouse offers Brazilian cuisine, served in churrascaria style, which means the meat is carved in front of the patrons and served to them tableside.
The hotel is a five-minute walk from Niagara Falls, which is open for tourists to view year-round. Gaming opportunities are available at the adjacent Fallsview Casino Resort, such as slot machines and table games. The casino also provides a wedding chapel, shopping center and a venue for live concerts.
The Orlando World Center is in southeastern Orlando, approximately 30 minutes from the downtown area and 10 minutes east of the Walt Disney World amusement park. The outdoor swimming area at this hotel has three outdoor swimming pools, and the largest pool features a 106-foot water slide and cascading waterfalls. According to Frommer's, the lobby area has contemporary décor and high ceilings, while many of the guest rooms in the 28-story structure provide views of the swimming pool area.
