Tunica, Miss., is a casino town on the Mississippi River that offers tennis, golf, and shooting facilities in addition to its nine casinos. Memphis, Tenn.'s Graceland and blues clubs are also just 20 minutes away. The Tunica Queen Riverboat takes tourists on Mississippi River cruises, and the RiverPark Museum tells the story of the River. Not all of Tunica's visitors are high rollers, though, so fortunately, the city offers several discount hotels.
The Gold Strike Casino Resort has a hotel attached to its casino, complete with poker rooms and the Freeplay Speedway jackpots promotion. The hotel is located minutes from the Casino Factory Outlet Mall and the Golden Reflections spa, which offers massages, wraps and facials. Hotel packages include golf at the Tunica National Golf and Tennis Center and spa treatments. As of October 2010, packages started at $86 per person, and regular room rates started at $49 per night.
Just three minutes from the town's major casinos, Cottage Inn is also located near the Tunica County Recreation Center, the Tunica National Golf and Tennis Center and the outlet mall. The Inn is made up of 10 individual chalets with two guest rooms each. Continental breakfast is included, and guests can use the hotel's gazebo and grill. A Presidential suite and honeymoon suite are also available. As of October 2010, room rates began at $55.
Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall offers low-cost rooms and packages, including a golf package at the River Bend Links golf course connected to the hotel. The hotel's dining options include a fine dining restaurant, a buffet, a country home cooking restaurant and a snack bar. In addition to its two-story casino, Sam's Town features a 1,500-seat arena that hosts national recording artists and fights. As of October 2010, room rates began at $37 per night.
The Royal Inn and Suites is located near the Battle Arena and Recreation Center. The hotel offers free shuttle service to Tunica's casinos, local outlet mall and the Memphis, Tenn., airport. Hotel staff can also arrange tours of the city, the Tunica Queen riverboat and the Tunica RiverPark. The inn offers free breakfast, as well as a pool and gym. As of October 2010, rates began at $64 per night.
Fitzgeralds Casino and Hotel is an Irish-themed hotel, and one of the only casino hotels with guest rooms offering a view of the Mississippi River. The hotel features midweek bed-and-breakfast specials, as well as casino promotions, including ladies' night on Thursdays, cash giveaways on Fridays and Saturdays and car giveaways. The hotel hosts lounge entertainment and fights, and offers a steakhouse and a buffet that features seafood on the weekends. As of October 2010, the hotel had a $35 per night bed-and-breakfast offer.
