Atmore, Alabama is a small town of roughly 7,600 people just a few miles from the Florida border. In 2009 the Poarch Band of Creek Indians opened the Wind Creek Casino and Hotel in Atmore, and the property's 17-story luxury hotel and 50,000 square foot casino have become a magnet for tourists. For visitors who'd like to spend a little less cash for a room, a handful of nearby motels fit the bill.
The Muskogee Inn sits about a mile from the Wind Creek Casino, and was once a Best Western. Guests looking for a break from the Alabama heat will find respite in one of the Muskogee Inn's 88 air-conditioned guest rooms, or perhaps with a dip in the Inn's swimming pool. All rooms have high-speed Internet access and cable television with free HBO. Guest suites come with kitchens. The Wrangler Steakhouse is located right next door to the motel, an easy walk for diners. Guests arriving with furry friends will have to pay an extra charge for pets. The Automobile Association of America awarded Muskogee Inn two diamonds. Room range in cost from $67 to $147 a night.
