The Leading Small Luxury Hotels of the World

The Leading Hotels of the World, founded in 1928, is a prominent luxury hospitality association that represents many of the finest 5-star luxury resorts and hotels in the world, including facilities with 100 or fewer guest rooms. Bearing "The Leading Small Hotels of the World" logo, these hotels have the same first-class standards as the larger hotels and resorts of this association. Some of these small hotels feature golf courses and children's program; many are historic landmarks. Here is a sampling.

  1. Sandy Lane

    • Sandy Lane hotel sits in a grove above a 100-foot crescent of a sandy white beach in Barbados. The 96-room hotel offers one five-bedroom villa and 16 suites. Some accommodations come with marble flooring, flat-screen televisions, hardwood floors, private bars and plantation-style furnishings. The lower terrace offers plenty of tables and chairs under large trees. The hotel features international cuisines and fine dining, such as the Bajan Blue, the Country Club Restaurant, the Spa Cafe and L'Acajou. The on-site 47,000-square-foot spa includes a fitness room, exercise center and meditation room. You can also play tennis on one of nine courts and golf at the Country Club. Kids 3 to 12 years old partake in sports, crafts, drama and themed dinners. Kids ages 13 years old and older can go to the Den for air hockey, board games, billiards and music.     Rittenhouse Hotel
