Officially recognized as the “Magnolia Capital of Oklahoma,” the tree-lined city of Durant is home to an annual Magnolia Festival and Southeastern Oklahoma State University, dubbed the "The Campus of a Thousand Magnolias.” Durant is also just 10 minutes from Lake Texoma, an 89,000-acre, man-made lake with 580 miles of shoreline dotted with sandy beaches and sheer bluffs.
Choctaw Casino Resort is home to three hotels. Choctaw Grand Tower provides chic amenities, including exclusive access to upscale business and fitness centers and complimentary high-end toiletries. The resort’s more casual hotels include Choctaw Inn, which has in-room microwaves and refrigerators, and Choctaw Lodge, which offers free breakfast and a bar with pool tables. Enjoy affordable accommodations at Best Express Inn in Calera, less than a five-minute drive south of the casino. All of the guest rooms have microwaves and refrigerators, while some rooms include whirlpool tubs. You’ll receive free continental breakfast and complimentary shuttle service to the casino during your stay.
Several hotels are on Main Street in Durant, just five minutes north of Choctaw Casino. Partake in the free breakfast at Best Western Markita Inn before taking a dip in the outdoor swimming pool and grilling up a meal on the communal barbecues under a gazebo. The hotel is also a five-minute walk from a flurry of fast food restaurants. Comfort Inn and Suites has a laid-back setting and allows up to two pets per room, pending a nominal fee. Free hot breakfast is served each morning and complimentary hot cookies are available in the lobby throughout the day. A handful of bars are within walking distance of the hotel.
Some hotels are near State Routes 69 and 75, two bustling highways that cut through the heart of Durant. La Quinta Inn and Suites Durant has brightly furnished rooms outfitted with microwaves and refrigerators. Snacks are available in the lobby market and the hotel also has an indoor swimming pool. Pets are allowed, free of charge. Just two blocks away is Holiday Inn Express and Suites Durant. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with a nearby hot tub and barbecue grills. Complete some chores at the coin-operated laundry facility. The hotel does not allow pets but it is just five minutes from Bryan County Animal Hospital which offers boarding. Both hotels are a little less than a 10-minute drive from the casino.
Enjoy lakefront accommodations on Lake Texoma with a stay in Pottsboro, Texas, 30 minutes from the casino. Little Mineral Marina and Resort has cabins with fully equipped kitchens available for rent, some of which include outdoor picnic tables, grills and bunk beds. Bring your boat for a day out on the lake and make use of the resort’s dry docks, slips and private boathouses. Throughout the year, the resort stages special events, such as outdoor movies and karaoke competitions. Tanglewood Resort is a lavish hotel with a host of recreational amenities, including a private 18-hole golf course, horseback riding trails, horseshoe pits, boats for rent and basketball, tennis and volleyball courts. There are also three swimming pools, one of which has a poolside bar. Upscale accommodations include villas with whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, DVD players and private patios.
