Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix is centrally located to the cities that surround Phoenix. A mid-priced hotel with an upscale feel, the Clarendon is only 5.9 miles from the airport. The star attraction is a swimming pool filled with stars. During the day the pool has bubblers, jets and fountains and a whirlpool that accommodates 50 people. At night, the water features are turned off and the stars come out to play. The bottom of the pool is lit with nearly 1,000 illuminated stars. The rooftop deck was named as "One of The Best Things about Phoenix" in 2008 by the Arizona Republic newspaper. The Gallo Blanca restaurant offers lunch, dinner and snacks. If that doesn't appeal to you, Thai E-San has Thai food, Siu Wok offers Chinese dishes and Alexi's Grill offers Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. All are within walking distance. If you'd like to learn about Native American Cultures in the southwest, the Heard Museum is less than two miles away.
