Wanderlust World Wanderlust World With an elevation of 6,500 feet, Al Arz is a ski resort village in the north Lebanese mountains. The name Al Arz means “The Cedars” in Arabic and is derived from the surrounding cedar groves. In the past, cedar wood from the area was used in construction by the Babylonians, Persians, Phoenicians and Assyrians. In addition to the landscape of cedar trees, today Al Arz is known as a ski area with nearby hotels, restaurants and shops. The ski season is generally from December to April, with activities that include downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Hiking and ATV riding are available in the summer. The resort is a two-hour drive from Beirut International Airport.
