Ocean Shores is a 12-square-mile city on Point Brown Peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and Grays Harbor on the northwest Washington coast. The city is a destination for nature lovers with its six miles of beaches, mid-city rain forest, 250 species of native birds and free-roaming deer. Visitors and residents also can head indoors for some gaming action at several tribal casinos in the region.
The Quinault Indian Nation opened its $50 million Quinault Beach Resort and Casino at the access point of Point Brown Peninsula in May 2000. It was the state's first tribal casino-hotel facility. A flaming fountain is the centerpiece of the 12,000-square-foot casino, which contains 437 electronic gaming machines and 15 table games. The four-story hotel features 150 rooms and nine suites with fireplaces, Dish Network TV programming and wireless Internet access. Emily's Restaurant, which offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from every table, features a prime-rib buffet Wednesday nights and a surf-and-turf buffet Friday nights. The resort offers 10,000 square feet of conference space in eight meeting areas, an indoor swimming pool and a health spa.
