Several of Reno's downtown hotels stand on the banks of the Truckee River, including the four-star Sienna Hotel and Spa and three-star Celebrity Resorts Reno. The three-star Plaza on the River is a smaller quieter hotel, and the two-star Truckee River Lodge offers studio-type accommodation with kitchenettes. These hotels are located within easy walking distance of Reno's River Arts District described on the Visit Renoe Tahoe website as "Reno's preeminent neighborhood retail, restaurant, entertainment and business district."
There are six hotels in the vicinity of Reno's Amtrak Station which lies in the heart of the downtown area. Three of these are linked by skywalks making Reno's largest entertainment complex--the three-star Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, the Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Eldorado Hotel and Casino (both four-star). These hotels are conveniently located close to the National Bowling Stadium and Reno Events Centre as well as Meadowood Mall, which has more than 100 retail outlets.
Reno Tahoe International Airport is just three miles from Reno's downtown area. The city's Amtrak station is served by the Californian Zephyr service which runs daily between Chicago, Illinois, and San Francisco/Emeryville, California.
