The Sanderling Resort and Spa is consists of a North Inn, Main Inn and South Inn, with amenities such as flat screen televisions, furnished balconies and plush robes. Features of the Main Inn include a comfortable sitting area with a fireplace, scenic views and individually decorated rooms. Main Inn rooms are suitable for two guests and include one king size bed or two queen size beds. The North Inn borders the conference center and swim spa and provides coastal views of sand dunes and the Atlantic Ocean or views of the scenic landscapes on the southern side of the inn. There is a wide variety of rooms, all with king or queen beds, coffee makers and refrigerators. The South Inn contains spacious suites that have large sitting parlors, 1½ baths with Jacuzzi tubs, and stereo systems. South Inn suites are also meant for two guests only. In addition to relaxing in luxury, guests can enjoy activities in the area, including tennis, golf and shopping.

Barrier Island Station is on the coast between the Atlantic Ocean and Currituck Sound. Barrier Island differs from most resorts in that it is an entire village where tourists can enjoy a variety of activities such as horseshoes, tennis, sailing and beach volleyball. The resort village is gated to provide the utmost privacy to guests and has access to the beach, where guests can walk along the coast or barbecue on one of the grills. Inside the resort are an exercise area, steam rooms and video arcade. Each unit is spacious and contains all of the comforts of home including fully equipped kitchens and air conditioning. Some accommodations come with fireplaces and dishwashers. Guests can choose between one-, two-, three- or four-bedroom units.
