Pomeroy is a small village community located in southeastern Ohio along the Ohio River. It is the county seat of Meigs County. Visitors to Pomeroy can visit the Meigs County Museum and the Meigs Memory Gardens. Due to its small population of fewer than 2,000 residents, motel accommodations are limited. There is one regular motel and there are two inns. The primary attraction in the town of Pomeroy is the beautiful countryside.
The Carpenter Inn is located in a tranquil setting on 250 acres of rolling hills. It is the highest point in Meigs County. The inn offers a sauna, hot tub and beautiful views. Visitors can take walks through the grounds, enjoy a massage or sit on the porch in wicker chairs to read or enjoy the view. Accommodations include the Main Inn, which has three bedrooms upstairs with antique beds and quilts. There are three suites downstairs.The inn also boasts apartments with kitchens and dinettes as well as two cabins with two and three bedrooms.

This inn is really a bed and breakfast located in the town of Pomeroy. The building dates from about 1836 and still has some of the original blown-glass windows. Family antiques and quilts are on display at the inn and many are for sale. The inn offers customers antique bicycles to ride through the nearby countryside.

The Meigs Motel is a small motel located in Pomeroy. It is the only traditional-style motel in the town. There are restaurants located nearby along the Ohio River including Crow's Steak House, Jimmy's Sports Bar, Gloeckner's Restaurant and McClure's Family Restaurant.
