Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is next to the Great Smoky Mountains Park. According to the National Park Service, it is America's most visited national park.     • Alamo Steak House offers a "Smokies Romance Dinner for Two" for which you will be seated in the "Love Nest," a private table away from the main restaurant that is available by reservation between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The restaurant grills prime Black Angus steaks over an oak wood fire. If you prefer to dine in, you can pick up a "Romance to Go" meal with a small and large filet mignon, choice of potato (baked or sweet), two garden salads and yeast rolls. Alamo Steak House is open daily for lunch and dinner with a menu that includes sandwiches, seafood and chops, and full bar selections.

    • Cherokee Grill & Steakhouse's interior has a mountain lodge atmosphere, accented with granite and walnut, and an exterior with rock and brick. Tables are set with oil lamps for a romantic ambiance. Specialties include rotisserie cooked prime rib, prime and choice steaks, and fresh local trout. The restaurant is open every day for dinner starting at 4 p.m., except for Saturdays when it opens at 3 p.m. Banquet accommodations for up to 200 people are available.

    The Peddler Steakhouse

    • The Peddler Steakhouse offers a romantic dining experience with views of the Little Pigeon River from the back dining room, the bar and the pavilion. Views of duck mallards, and occasionally of a bear or two, can be seen in early evening along the stream. The dining room is the former home of a Gatlinburg merchant, Charles "Earl" Ogle Sr., built of remnants of four Sevier County cabins. So you can see what the exterior of the home was like with its native stone and rustic timbers.

      Never-frozen steaks are hickory grilled; other specialties include fresh trout, grilled blackened tuna, charbroiled shrimp and chicken with a salad bar, including 40 vegetables, cheese and other entrees. Choose wine or a drink from the full-service bar. The Peddler Steakhouse is open for dinner at 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and at 5 p.m. every other day.
