1. Greater Appalachia
This region includes parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Despite its scenic beauty and cultural heritage, there is currently no National Park in this area.
2. Northern Plains
Encompassing parts of Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota, this region is known for its vast grasslands, buttes, and Native American heritage. However, there is no National Park specifically dedicated to this region.
3. Chihuahuan Desert
This desert region covers parts of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Despite its unique desert landscapes and biodiversity, there is currently no National Park in this area.
4. Ozarks
The Ozark Mountains span across parts of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. This region offers scenic forests, caves, and rivers but does not have a National Park.
5. Puget Sound
This region in Washington State includes the Puget Sound area and the Olympic Peninsula. Despite its natural beauty and cultural significance, there is no National Park in this region yet.
