National Park Service in 1916 goals?

The National Park Service was created in 1916 with the following goals:

1. To conserve the scenery and natural and historic objects and wild life therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations.

2. To promote and regulate the use of the Federal areas known as national parks, monuments and reservations hereinafter specified.

3. To cooperate with the states and other local agencies in providing such recreational facilities as may be appropriate and desirable for popular use.

4. To accept and administer donations of lands, money, and other property given or bequeathed for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this act.

5. To make and issue rules and regulations for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this act and for the preservation and protection of the fish, game, birds and other wild life found within said parks, monuments and reservations, and for the establishment of such public use and enjoyment thereof as is consistent therewith.
