Royal Caribbean Cruise Etiquette

Royal Caribbean International offers cruises to destinations around the globe. To help ensure passengers have a safe, enjoyable trip, the cruise line has established basic behavioral guidelines, which are posted in each stateroom.
  1. Behavior

    • You must be of legal age to drink alcohol.

Royal Caribbean expects guests to be on their best behavior. Abusive or offensive actions are not tolerated. This includes inappropriate language, physical or verbal harassment, destroying or stealing property, underage drinking or the use of illegal drugs.

    Courtesy

    • Keep your music to a tolerable level.

Royal Caribbean does not allow passengers to reserve pool, deck or theater chairs for later use. Guests are to wear appropriate clothing (dress codes are available at the ship's Guest Services Center and may vary depending on the cruise). Guests are not allowed to play loud music from portable devices.

    Safety

    • No skateboarding allowed.

Royal Caribbean does not allow use of roller blades, roller skates, skateboards or similar items. Guests are not to sit, stand, climb or in any way play on the rails either inside or outside of the ship.

    Guest and Crew

    • No romancing the crew.

Royal Caribbean forbids intimate encounters between passengers and crew members. Guests are not to enter restricted crew areas of the ship, nor are crew members allowed to enter a guest room unless they are performing an official duty.

    General Etiquette

    • Don't forget to tip.

Keep sound to a moderate level while you are in your room. Partake in social activities, but know your limits when it comes to alcohol consumption. Remember that many of the crew's employees make most of their income from gratuity, so tip generously when appropriate.
