Can you deny notarization because of expired Oregon driver license?

In the U.S. state of Oregon, a notary public is authorized to deny notarization if the person requesting notarization does not provide satisfactory evidence of their identity. An Oregon driver license is an acceptable form of identification for notarization purposes, but only if it is current (not expired).

Furthermore, the Oregon Secretary of State recommends obtaining additional forms of identification if the driver's license presented for notarization appears altered, modified, or invalid. The notary may also ask for another current driver's license, a state-issued identification card, a military ID, a passport, or a tribal identification card.

Therefore, if a person presents an expired Oregon driver license as their sole form of identification for notarization, the notary public may deny notarization based on insufficient identification.
