As of 2021, 100 Spanish pesetas (ESP) ≈ $0.08 USD. The peseta was replaced by the euro in 2002 at a fixed rate of 166.386 ESP = 1 EUR. Since the euro trades ~1.05–1.10 USD, 100 ESP ≈ €0.60 ≈ $0.63–$0.66. However, pesetas are no longer legal tender; they can only be exchanged at the Banco de España (until 2020 for notes, 2021 for coins) or sold as collectibles. Numismatic value may exceed face value for rare coins.
