What are the two types of baton exchange?

The two types of baton exchange in track and field are the push pass and the flip pass.

Push pass: In this type of exchange, the incoming runner extends their arm back to the outgoing runner, who places their hand on top of the incoming runner's hand and pushes the baton forward into their opposite hand.

Flip pass: In this type of exchange, the incoming runner holds the baton in their hand with their thumb facing up and their palm facing down. The outgoing runner places their hand on top of the incoming runner's hand, flips the baton over so that their thumb is facing up and their palm is facing down.
