Cheap Sidney, BC Area Motels

Sidney is a small town on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. As well as being within driving distance of Victoria International Airport, it is also the only Canadian stop for the Washington State Ferry system. Its strong transport links combined with its position on the sea and varied wildlife make it a popular tourist destination. Sidney also maintains a strong industrial and manufacturing presence. Whether visiting Sidney for leisure or on business, there are a wide number of affordable motels in the area.
  1. Western 66 Motor Inn

    • Located in the town of Saanichton, four miles from Sidney, the Western 66 Motor Inn is a 85-room motel set in a large landscaped garden. There is free wireless Internet in all rooms and an on-site restaurant, the White Spot, is open from 6:30 a.m. every day serving Canadian cuisine. Pets are not allowed in the Western 66. As of January 2011, rooms were available from $59.95 CAD from November to March, $75.95 CAD from April to June and October and $91.95 CAD from July to September. The motel is a short walk from the Marley Farm winery, a vineyard that offers daily tours throughout the summer months as well as operating an on-site gift shop stocking local crafts.

    Cherry Tree Inn Victoria

    • Halfway between Sidney and Victoria, the Cherry Tree Inn is a small family-owned motel located in the middle of a two-acre garden complete with fruit trees and grapevines. Rooms come with a kitchenette and a combined shower/bathtub. Car ports are available and cots can be placed in the room for an additional charge. As of January 2011, rooms were available from $49.95 CAD between mid-October and February, $79.95 CAD between mid-June and early September and $69.95 CAD during the rest of the year. Cherry Tree Inn Victoria is a short ride up Highway 17 to the Royal Oak Golf Club, a nine-hole course facility with its own barbecue restaurant.

    Robin Hood Motel

    • A 25-minute drive from Sidney, the Robin Hood Motel is a family-owned business that is a common rest point for those taking a cycling vacation on Vancouver Island's Galloping Goose Trail. The hotel has full storage facilities for bicycles as well as free parking for larger vehicles. Rooms come with free wireless Internet and free local phone calls, and the hotel has fax and photocopier facilities for business travelers. There is also an adjacent courtyard with picnic tables. As of January 2011, rooms are $66 CAD October to mid-May, $72 CAD mid-May to June and $89 CAD for the rest of the year. Pets can stay for an additional charge. The Robin Hood Motel is a quick drive from the Mayfair Mall, a shopping center with branches of The Bay, Aeropostale and American Eagle, as well as a drive-in cinema.

    Paul's Motor Inn

    • Located in the heart of Victoria and 25 minutes from Sidney by car, Paul's Motor Inn is a 77-room motel with its own garden courtyard. The motel offers free parking, free local phone calls and free wireless Internet. Children under the age of 16 can stay for free when accompanied by an adult. An on-site diner serving home cooking is open for breakfasts and lunch Sunday to Thursday and all day Friday and Saturday. As of January 2011, rooms were available from $64 CAD with late check-outs available for an additional fee. Paul's Motor Inn is a 15-minute walk from the Royal British Columbia Museum, which has four permanent galleries showcasing British Columbia's First Nation inhabitants, modern British Columbia, its natural history and its geography. There are also two rotating exhibits throughout the year.
