Cheap Hotels by Universal Studios, Hollywood

A number of cheap hotels are available within five miles of Universal Studios, Hollywood. This family theme park and movie studio is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Los Angeles, with activities for visitors of all ages. Universal Studios' slogan tells its own story--"The entertainment capital of LA." Staying in budget hotels near Universal Studios, guests are well placed to explore the famous Hollywood neighborhood, as well as downtown Los Angeles.
  1. Beverly Inn

    • The Beverly Inn is an economy hotel located five miles away from Universal Studios. Rooms at the Beverly Inn start at $84 per night, as of October 2010. Guests at this hotel gain access to the West Hollywood area, with a number of amenities within walking distance, including The Grove, with shopping, cafes, theaters and restaurants. Visitors can also reach Fairfax Village, the Farmers' Market and the La Brea tar pits on foot. The hotel itself offers guests secure, sheltered parking as well as access to a heated outdoor swimming pool. There is no shuttle service offered between the hotel and Universal Studios, but tickets to the theme park are available from reception.

    Tangerine Hotel

    • The Tangerine Hotel is situated just over a mile to the north of Universal Studios in the city of Burbank. As of October 2010, guest rooms are available at the motel from $90 per person per night. Guest rooms featuring iPod docking stations, LCD televisions and concrete-floored bathrooms with ceaserstone counter-tops await visitors at the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located for travelers utilizing Bob Hope Airport, which is just three miles from the accommodation. A number of cafes, bars and restaurants surround the Tangerine Hotel, with a Sushi bar, Starbucks, Vons restaurant, Mo's restaurant and Sardo's bar all within a two-minute walk. There is no shuttle service between the hotel and Universal Studios, but it is a walkable distance away.

    Carlton Motor Lodge

    • Guest rooms at the Carlton Motor Lodge are available from $75 per night, as of October 2010. Located in Studio City, the lodge is just over a mile to the west of Universal Studios. The motel's website claims the lodge has the "tallest motel sign in Southern California." Although there is no restaurant at the Carlton Motor Lodge, the hotel is well placed for access to a range of bars, clubs, cafes and restaurants. A number of walking distance restaurants include Firefly, Katsu-Ya, Midori Sushi and Dupar's, while the Laurel Tavern and Aura nightclub are within a mile of the motel. The Carlton Motor Lodge does not allow pets.
