Why did people travel to Mecca?

Mecca was and still is the holiest site in the Islamic faith, and as such, it attracts millions of Muslims from all over the world. The holy city is home to the Kaaba, a cube-shaped structure considered the most sacred site in Islam. Muslims are required to make the pilgrimage, or Hajj, to Mecca at least once in their lifetime if they are physically and financially able.

During the Hajj, pilgrims participate in several religious rituals and ceremonies. They circumambulate the Kaaba, walk between two hills, drink from the Zamzam Well, and stone the devil. These rituals are believed to cleanse the soul and strengthen one's faith.

In addition to the religious significance of Mecca, the city also has a rich history and culture. It is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad, and it has been a center of trade and commerce for centuries. Mecca is also home to several beautiful mosques, including the Grand Mosque, which is the largest mosque in the world.
