The Travel Alliance Partners Group, also known as TAP, runs 10 Northeastern bus tours ranging in price from $600 for a three-day tour up to $3,000 per person for a 26-day tour. These tours run year-round, from highlighting cherry blossom season in the spring up through the autumn leaves beginning in September and changing color through early November. Shorter New York City tours take tourists through main attractions of the city, with stops for dinner, shopping and overnight hotel stays. Two other TAP tours include a monthlong trip to see fall colors through New England and Canada and another month-long excursion starting in Boston and traveling down to the historic attractions in the Richmond, Virginia, area.
Anderson Coach and Travel offers bus tours every month through New York City at $79 per person. This one-day tour begins with a pickup in several Pennsylvania and Ohio towns and then a drive straight to New York City. Once in New York, tourists can decide where on the tour they would like to be dropped off, for the possibility of 12 hours of sightseeing. Popular stops on this tour include exploring Chinatown, touring Ellis Island and seeing a Broadway play.
This tour departs from Guymon, Oklahoma, and carries passengers across the Northeast for nine days. Stops on this tour include a visit to the town of Hershey, Pennsylvania, home of Hershey chocolate company. Tourists can visit the Hershey factory and store for samples and also see the town streetlights shaped like Hershey's kisses. A stop in Washington, D.C., includes a tour of the Holocaust Museum. Once in New York, tourists can see the Empire State Building, Times Square, Chinatown and Little Italy, among many other city highlights. After visiting New York City, this tour drives passengers to Niagara Falls before a return trip to Oklahoma.
Travel by bus can be a relaxing adventure because someone else is in charge of driving and directions. Be aware that luggage limitations are usually very strict because of the limited room. Most tours allow only one piece of luggage per traveler. Also pay careful attention to the times of arrivals and departures so you are not left behind. Bring along books or electronic readers to entertain you during the longer, less scenic legs of any bus trip.
