What is the origin of mt Everest?

The origin of Mount Everest can be traced back millions of years ago when the Indian subcontinent was part of the ancient supercontinent of Gondwanaland. As Gondwanaland began to break apart, India collided with Asia around 50 million years ago, resulting in the uplift of the Himalayas. Over millions of years, the ongoing movement of the Indian Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate caused the Himalayas to rise and form the towering peaks we see today. Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, was formed as a result of these tectonic plate movements.
