How many climbing routes on mount Everest?
Mount Everest has many climbing routes, both from the south side in Nepal and the north side in Tibet/China. The most famous and used route is the South Col Route, which goes through Nepal and was first climbed by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. Other notable routes include the North Ridge Route, the West Ridge Route, the South-West Face Route, and the Khumbu Icefall Route. In total, there are over 30 different climbing routes on Mount Everest.
