Can You Wear Sandals at Lake Compounce? The Footwear Policy Explained

Yes, you can wear sandals at Lake Compounce—but with a specific catch. According to the park's official safety guidelines, all footwear must have a fully enclosed back.

This means standard sandals with a heel strap (like Tevas, Chacos, or sport sandals) and water shoes are perfectly acceptable for riding attractions. However, flip-flops, Crocs (without the heel strap engaged), slides, and any other loose, backless footwear are prohibited on rides for safety reasons—they can fly off at speed or become entangled.

The policy requires footwear to be worn at all times throughout the park. If you plan to hit the water park (Crocodile Cove), secure water shoes or strap-on sandals are ideal. For the dry rides, leave the flip-flops in your locker or bag and opt for sneakers or strapped sandals to avoid being turned away at the loading platform.
