Can you wear sandals at lake compounce?

According to Lake Compounce's website, "footwear must be worn at all times, and must have a fully enclosed back (such as sneakers, sandals, and water shoes). Flip-flops, crocs, and other non-enclosed footwear are not permitted on the rides."
