Diamond Deposits in Nigeria: Present but Not Commercially Major

Nigeria does have diamond deposits, primarily in central and eastern regions (Akwanga in Nasarawa State, Jos Plateau in Plateau State, parts of Benue State). These include alluvial and kimberlite diamonds.

However, deposits are not as extensive or commercially significant as in major diamond-producing countries. Commercial viability and large-scale mining potential are still under evaluation.
