Zwittau (Svitavy) and Brinnlitz (Brněnec) are located in the Czech Republic. Czechoslovakia was the sovereign state from 1918–1992; it peacefully dissolved into the Czech Republic and Slovakia on January 1, 1993.
Both are in the Czech Republic today. The German names reflect the pre-1945 Sudeten German population, expelled after WWII.
