Is the gold coast city project in accra Ghana going ahead?

Yes. In December 2022, the Gold Coast City Project entered into an agreement with the government of Ghana to create its first Gold Coast City.

It is an expansive mixed-use development covering 2,000 acres of land in Prampram, with easy access from Accra International Airport. This mega-city will contain a state-of-the-art financial district, a commercial center, a modern entertainment complex, high-end residential areas, schools, world-class sports facilities, and health facilities.

Other facilities include a theme park, a waterpark, casinos, nightclubs, shopping centers, and a 5-star hotel. The development will also include a solar farm to provide renewable energy and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure environmental sustainability.

The project is expected to be completed in phases, with the first phase set for completion in 2024. It is part of the government's efforts to attract investment and boost tourism in the country.
