Lesotho: No Volcanoes, But Africa's Highest Single-Drop Waterfall

Volcanoes: None. Lesotho sits on the stable Kaapvaal Craton, far from plate boundaries.

Waterfalls: Spectacular, thanks to the Drakensberg Escarpment:

  • Maletsunyane Falls: 192 m (630 ft) — highest single-drop waterfall in Africa (Maletsunyane River, near Semonkong).
  • Semonkong Falls: ~200 m (656 ft) total, but segmented.
  • Ketane Falls: 122 m (400 ft).

The "Mountain Kingdom" trades volcanic fire for vertical water.
