Where is petrikata?

Petrikata is an abandoned ancient settlement in Bulgaria, located in the Balkan Mountains about 10 kilometers north of the town of Asenovgrad. It is situated on a strategic hill overlooking the Asenovgrad valley and is believed to have been inhabited from the 5th century BC to the 14th century AD. Archaeological excavations have revealed the remains of a fortress, several churches, residential buildings, and a necropolis. Petrikata is also known for its well-preserved medieval frescoes and rock-hewn tombs. The site is currently protected as a national archaeological reserve and is open to visitors.
