Although Maputo, Mozambique's capital city has beaches of its own, other renowned beaches in the Southern Mozambique include Ponta do Ouro named in Portuguese for its yellow sands. Pemba a port city in Northern Mozambique, is known for it's rolling hills and natural beaches ideal for water sports.
