Singapore's Classification in SQA Higher Geography: Developed, Not Developing

For the purposes of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Higher Geography exam, Singapore is not considered a developing country.

The SQA defines a developing country as one with low income, high population growth, and rapid social and economic change. Singapore contradicts this definition on all counts: it boasts a high-income economy, a low population growth rate, and a highly developed social and economic infrastructure. Consequently, it is classified as a developed nation in the SQA curriculum.
