Where Is Balochistan?

Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan by area (347,190 km², 44% of national territory), located in the southwest of the country.

• Borders: Afghanistan (north/northwest), Iran (west/southwest), Arabian Sea (south), Sindh & Punjab provinces (east).
• Capital: Quetta.
• Population: ~14.9 million (2023 estimate).
• Geography: Arid mountains (Sulaiman, Toba Kakar), desert basins (Kharan, Chagai), coastal plain (Makran).
• Resources: Natural gas (Sui), coal, copper, gold (Reko Diq), minerals, fisheries.
• People: Baloch, Pashtun, Brahui, Hazara, Sindhi settlers.

Note: "Balochistan" also refers to the broader historical region spanning Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan.
