Was Thailand Colonized or Invaded?

Thailand was never colonized by a European power. However, it was invaded multiple times by the Burmese:

• King Bayinnaung invaded and occupied Ayutthaya in 1569, 1584, 1593; expelled by Naresuan the Great in 1593.
• 18th century: Burmese occupied Ayutthaya 1767–1782 (15 years), destroying the city; Siamese government moved to Bangkok.
