Xiang Hong: Chairman of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank

Xiang Hong is the Chairman of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPD Bank). A native of Shanghai, he graduated from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance and earned an MBA from the University of Rochester.

He began his banking career in 1986 as a credit officer at Bank of China. In 1991, he joined SPD Bank as a corporate banking manager, rising to president in 2005 and chairman in 2008. Under his leadership, the bank's assets grew from ¥200 billion to over ¥1 trillion, offering loans, deposits, credit cards, and investment banking.

Xiang Hong is active in the Chinese business community: member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He serves on boards of companies like Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation and China National Offshore Oil Corporation. He is married with three children and enjoys tennis and reading.
