Why does southeast Asia called as far east?

Southeast Asia is not generally referred to as the "Far East". The term "Far East" is commonly used to refer to East Asia, which includes countries like China, Japan, and South Korea. Southeast Asia, on the other hand, refers to the region located south of China and east of India, and includes countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
