Where is the taklikmakan desert?
The Taklamakan Desert is located in the Tarim Basin in western China. It is the second-largest moving sand desert in the world, after the Arabian Desert. The Taklamakan Desert covers an area of about 337,000 square kilometers (130,000 square miles). The desert is bordered by the Kunlun Mountains to the south, the Altai Mountains to the north, the Tien Shan Mountains to the west, and the Gobi Desert to the east. The Taklamakan Desert is a hot, dry region with very little rainfall. The average temperature in July is about 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit), and the average temperature in January is about -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit). The Taklamakan Desert is home to a variety of plants and animals, including camels, gazelles, and antelopes.
