Why did pearl harbor cause US to get in World War 2 on the Europe side why not fight japan?

The United States did not enter World War II on the European side because of Pearl Harbor. The United States entered the war on the European side after Germany declared war on the United States on December 11, 1941, four days after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
