The "Old Town" portion of Hoi An is a 15th- to 19th-century fishing town and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tourists to this area can tour historical buildings or enjoy the monthly full-moon festivals. According to Lonely Planet, the town has flooding problems during the rainy season in October and November.
