Does a fast ferry service still operate from Melbourne to Tasmania in Australia?

No, there is currently no fast ferry service operating between Melbourne and Tasmania. In 2006, the Spirit of Tasmania car ferry service ceased its Bass Strait operations, and passenger services are now provided by the TT-Line Spirit of Tasmania car and passenger ferries. These ferries offer overnight trips from Melbourne to Devonport, Tasmania.
